To Mom, With Love

In 2004, Samantha created To Mom, With Love, an organization devoted to giving children in shelters the ability to make gifts for their moms.
"I know the wonderful feeling that comes when I give my own mom a gift and can't imagine how it would be if I didn't have the means to do so" Samantha wrote in a letter describing the charity's purpose in 2004. "I want my organization to focus on the children and how they feel in their times of need." Since its inception, To Mom, With Love has operated solely on donations. Specifically, miniature toiletry items and arts and crafts supplies are accepted so that the children not only have gift items to give their moms, but can also add their own special touch to their presents. |
In 2005, just a few month's following Samantha's accident, To Mom, With Love's first donation of toiletries and craft items was bestowed upon The House of Ruth, a shelter for abused women and their children.
The donation was enough to make about 100 presents. The House of Ruth was equally grateful to receive the supplies as To Mom, With Love was to give it.
